Attendance
Dallow Primary School is committed to providing the best possible education for all of its pupils through the provision of high quality learning experiences; we consider regular and punctual attendance to be essential to maximise the benefits of these learning experiences. We are committed to working with parents, carers and children to ensure that high levels of attendance are achieved and ensure that children are fully aware of the positive correlation between attendance and attainment. We regularly celebrate the positive attendance of pupils and share this with parents and carers.
Attendance of 97% + is considered good by OFSTED.
It is a legal requirement of parent/carers to ensure that their child, or children in their household, attends school regularly and punctually. A fixed penalty notice may be issued for any unauthorised absence totalling more than 10 sessions (each day consists of 2 sessions) in a 12 week period. If you are concerned regarding your child's attendance or issues that may be affecting this, please contact the school.
The school Attendance Policy can be found HERE
If you need to report an absence from school, please call the school office on 01582 616601 option 0 or on the Studybugs App prior to 8.30am on the first day of absence.

Appointments during the school day
Children will not be released for an ADULT or SIBLING appointment under any circumstances. Please remember that routine medical appointments for children including the dentist, opticians and non-urgent doctors appointments MUST NOT be booked during school time and will NOT be authorised. Appointments of this nature must be only booked in school holidays or after school hours. We understand that this is not always possible with hospital appointments and therefore these may be authorised with supporting medical evidence. This should be provided to the FRONT OFFICE and not the class teacher as soon as you are aware of the appointment for URGENT appointments only.
